Upon competion of this classs I would like to have the full understanding of how a blog actually works and how I can post my blog to your blog so you can read everything that I have written in my previous blog.I would also like to learn how I can post my picture to the Manhattan something I could not figure out in the last class.I currently do not own a digital camera because I find it difficult to take pictures with those cameras and it seems inconvienient to me to have to download them from a computer. Learning how to use a digital camera will be very interesting to me.

I am anxious to learn about linear and non-linear because I have no clue about what that means.I would like to leave this class knowing about the fundamentals in video production. I am very interested on which cameras are good for purchase and how to use them correctly. I also would like to learn how to zoom, tilt, and pan effectively.

I expect when I leave this class to have some understanding of how to produce public service announcements and documentaries. And how to gain access to community broadcast and cable television channels. I would also like to learn how to take advantage of some of the extra credit assignments since I Earned a D- in your last class I just don't know how to do those extra credit assingnments that you give out but this time I will make sure that I ask questions whether its to you or my fellow class mates. Furthermore I would like to learn how to utilize some of the tools that springfield has to offer because I know that it will help me develop in the areas where I am lacking whether in computers or in writing assignments.

I hope this has given you an understanding of what I expect to gain from your class and I know that it will be an exciting and fun class because it was last semester maybe too fun that's why I Earned a D-. See you Saturday.

P.S. I had very long sentences so its like 5 to seven in all.

After completing this class I expect to know how to create blogs, creating public service announcements and documentaries for community education. Because of the field I'm in, learning to write blogs are important; I'm able to share my experience with others outside of my home community. Information can be shared at a distance.

Another thing I expect to learn is how to work my video camera better! I am not a technology person at all! When it comes to working digital cameras and video camera's I have to have my husband do it. After this class, I'm hoping that I will be able to share the moment of taking pictures and videos of our kids and any other events I may attend.

Community education is very important. With the inauguration of our new President, it is plain to see that he is a community person. I would like to learn how to right public service announcements and documentaries that can be used to educate my community. Knowing how to produce public service announcements and documentaries that will capture my is important. If I can't capture them then my hopes for educating them has been lost.

I am excited to be taking this Introduction to Community Video class. I do not have a video camera to date however, I do plan to have one soon. I am interseted in all of the capabilities in which new photo and video technology have tpo offer. I do have a digital camera that I still do bnot know how to use all of the functions on it. I'm sure this class will help with that.

Since I don't have a video camera of my own, I hope that I learn what to look for when I do purchase my own video camera. I like to record my son on my cell phone and digital camera but the time length isn't long enough. Other than the basics like zoom in and out, I really don't know much else about video camera and or making videos.

I would like to take from this class the knowledge and shill of how to create and edit videos. Not to just be able to push a button but to actually understand what I am doing. After I have completed this class I would like to be p[ossibly be ablr to make small family videos with captions and other cool functions too. I am looking forward to coming out of this class knowing how to use these devices.- Tanjala

I would like to leave this class with a greater understanding of producing videos for community awareness and initiatives. One of my goals upon graduating from Springfield is to pursue journalism and production of public service announcements. I would like to learn any software to produce videos made specifically for the web. Over the course of the last year or so, my interest in this area has expanded greatly, and it just makes perfect sense for me to take this class.

I want to learn techniques for using my camcorder, which hasn't arrived in the mail yet, but hopefully it will by Friday! Although I consider myself reasonably well-versed on technological tools, this is my first camcorder purchase and I have NO idea what I'll be doing with it. For a class I took on education, I interviewed young people from an after-school program in Harlem. You can see those videos here. For those videos, I used my digital camera that I bought a year ago. However, those videos aren't as good in terms of quality as I would like them to be. Therefore, I am looking forward to learning how to make better quality videos in terms of look and sound, and the type of equipment needed to make good video. For instance, are HDV cameras better than the newer Flash-based or Hard-Drive cameras? If not, was my purchase a mistake? Those are the kinds of questions that I would like to have a better grasp on upon completion of this class.

Lastly, I will be going on the Mexico trip in February. My goal is to be able to record the experience, and edit it down to a 10 minute feature that Springfield can use and post to its website. I also plan to post this on my still-under-construction website and online video project, both of which are still being conceptualized. This would actually be my first production, and therefore I look forward to learning as much as possible in the weeks ahead as I plan to use these techniques immediately.

One might think that four classes is only enough time to learn the basics. However, in this time I believe there is much that can be learned! I expect this class to reveal how the use of media can be helpful to me in my desired field. I want to be able to pass on the knowledge of media in a way that it can positively impact youth and allow them to be involved from a more technical perspective. Hopefully, I can be able to work to get videos and editing into our public recreation centers and nursing homes. I feel they will be able to use this as a tool and be able see the beauty in all things, artistically.

Creatively, we will be using video to produce different types of images of media. For effect we are going to pan, tilt and zoom the camera while filming. We will also be learning the difference between linear and non linear video. These forms of editing will help to compile and enhance our videos. Using video production techniques I'm going to be more active in the community and get them involved as well. All of this is going to be done by the single camera and multi camera styles of shooting.

I want to be able to connect video and the community. Not only to show the community to the world but also the world to the community. Through the production of public service announcements and documentaries, I can better display human services. I would like to leave this class knowing that I have all the resources to broadcast video and effectivly impact the community through media.

This class will be a geat acces to me because I only know so much about computers. All this new technology I'm trying to learn. I think I will get to know more if I take more computer classes and get to know how to use it. I'm a senior at Springfiled, howwever, I need more computer knowledge for my business.
I really did not know abot this blos site until you had this on the web, however, I'm statring to get the feel of this. I see now that I've started using the blog, others have been published using this website.
Also I would not have to call my granddaughter and ask her how to post items on this site, I would have knowledge and skills from this class that will allow me to benefit from being educated from this class and i will have the ability to learn hiw to use my ditigal camera for better usage. I'm still learning how to use it. So please help me and I promise I will share my experience with others

Lucien, I have created my blog and posted my comments in the 2008 strand because at the time I posted my paragraphs, you did not have a strand created for 2009. Unfortunately, I am not computer savvy enough to know how delete and repost it to the 2009 strand. I'll try to give you a call in hopes that you can assist me with doing so.

I would like to gain knowledge in every area, conducive to my profession in the Human Service field. As stated in the syllabi, this course can aid me in conveying my messages via public broadcasting. I am always open to learn about technology, since it is the way of our times. My plan is to take all that I learn from this class, and educate my colleagues, since video conferencing has been mentioned. But what I really look forward to is learning how broadcasting actually works. It’s amazing to me how you can watch people, places and things, on a tube. I also want to learn, given that I plan on changing my major in a few years. If what is taught in this course interests me enough, I may look in to computer technology. After all, that is where the money is at!

Anything regarding technology makes me very nervous, as i have managed to break three camcorders/cameras so far. I have been told by my family to stay away from electronics. My family always rely on me to take pictures and other video activities on special occasions and when we go on vacation. Each time i disappoint them terribly. Sad to say, at my daughters kindergarteen graduation, i had the camcorder on pause instead of play. When we got home to watch the ceremony, it was blank. Due to my lack of knowledge, i am always open and excited to learn about old and new technology. Iam looking forward to learning on how to operate my camcorder and be able to connect the video caples to my television effectively. I am also ashamed to say, i would like to learn how to create a blog again. I cannot wait to share this excitement with my family when the semester ends.

I must admit at first I wasn't sure about taking this class. My thinking was telling how could a vedio course help me in the human service field. Before getting to class all I could think about was dropping it. But after I got to class my thinking changed quickly. Suddenly I remembered I didn't know a thing about TV cameras. All the time I have been at Springfied, I never knew how to post my pitchure or do a blog on the manhatan.

Just by going to that one class I got more than I bargin for. Before I leave this class I want to know everything about production. I want to know how to manage a camera crew. I want to learn how to produce a show. I want to know what is like to br a director. And I also want learn how to act.

Somtimes we can forget about our in interest in other things untill they are put in front of us. Still today I have thoughts being a actor. I often have ideas about movies, plays, and talk shows but can't do anything with them. I expect by the time I leave this class my knowledge of TV, and movie production has grown also gain the know how to go somwhere with my ideas.

Sorry for bloging late Marvin

After leaving this class I would like a full understanding of how a video is produce. I would like the full understanding of how to hold a video camera. I am very interested on which cameras are good to purchase based on what information I will be shooting, indoor or outdoor. And learning how to use each one of them correctly. Public service announcements and documentaries including but not limit editing videos is a personal interest I have. So I am very interested in how that process works and I look forwarded in learning this in your class.

Upon completion of this course I hope to have an beginners level knowledge of what community videography is all about. I would like to learn how to shot a video that is clear to all viewers.

At this time I have limited knowledge of videography. Therfore I am anxious to learn all that you have to offer in your field of expertise.

I am looking forward to this unfamilar journey in my educational career. In addition I am certain that I will leave this course educated and cultivated in the course study.
